As you will be aware we have been looking at having a change around in the 'shop' on Elm Farm Road for some time now.
We had always intended for it to be a door way into the community, especially on an estate with 3000 homes and no community centre, and over the years it has proved to be that.. We now want to take that a step further by making the space more available to the community and at the same time giving it a name change.
So the question is how does 'The Oaks Community Centre' sound to you? other names we've had would be 'The Well' or 'Millwall Supporters Club' (cant remember who came up with that!) You got a better one?
Anyway your thoughts please either by email ( gta@talktalk.net ) or on face book.
Just in case you ant to know what's currently happening in the 'community centre' then have a look below
The Oaks community centre opened on Elm Farm Road in 2002 with the intention of providing somewhere for the local community to meet. Initially a book and coffee shop the space is used by both the local and Christian community.
Visit the centre and you will enjoy high quality refreshments including homemade cakes and a variety of hot drinks to tempt everyone in a friendly relaxed atmosphere, come with your friends or meet new ones here.
The community centre is used for various events through the week so always check the website diary for the latest events.

Next charity coffee morning will be May 24th when we will be raising money for race for life. Come and meet the Oaks team who ran the race and enjoy a cake and a drink, at the same time raising money for Cancer Research.
