Alpha Course (7:30PM - 9:30PM)

Alpha is an excellent opportunity for people to explore the Christian faith, meet new people and eat good food! The course itself lasts for 10 session’s, (you are obviously free to come and go as you please), and is an opportunity for people to look at Christianity in an informal setting, with plenty of opportunity to ask questions. The evenings start with food; there is then a brief talk about Christianity after which an informal discussion takes place based around the talk.

Subjects covered include Who is Jesus?, why did Jesus die?, Why and how should I read the Bible?, How does God guide us?, What about the Church?, Christianity: Boring, Untrue and irrelevant?, How can I be sure of my faith'?, What about the Holy Spirit?, How can I make the best of the rest of my life?

The course is set out in such a way that makes it straightforward to follow, and does not make assumptions regarding your beliefs or opinions, so it is open to anyone, any age, and any background. There is certainly no pressure, you get the information, and the rest is up to you. If you do want guidance at any point, then there are always people around to help, but nothing is "forced"!

Men's Ministry (8:00PM - 10:00PM)

Oaks Geysers
(John 4:14)

To turn the heart of men to the heart of God

Oaks geysers is a ministry by men, for men, with a purpose statement of ‘To turn the heart of men to the heart of God’.

A geyser is a hot spring of water that bubbles up from under ground. In John 4 when Jesus was speaking to a Samarian woman by a well, this is what he said “But whoever takes a drink of the water that I will give him shall never, no never, be thirsty any more. But the water that I will give him shall become a spring of water welling up (flowing, bubbling) [continually] within him unto (into, for) eternal life.” (Jn 4:14)

The aim of this ministry is to help ‘Geezers’ become geysers!

We do this by creating an atmosphere where men can learn to be the men God always intended them to be. A non-judgemental atmosphere where we can be open, honest and vulnerable with each other.

This ministry will have aspects of all 5 purposes of church and it is our belief that we will grow…

… Warmer through fellowship
… Deeper through discipleship
… Stronger through worship
… Broader through ministry
… Larger through evangelism

It is our intention that Oaks geysers would be a place where men can discover, develop and demonstrate gifts of the Spirit.

Oaks Of Righteousness (8:00PM - 10:00PM)
The Women’s Ministry at Oaks is a key part of Church Life – our desire is always to do what we can to see the women of Oak’s in a place where they can be fed, discipled and supported; equipping them to go and do the work of the Kingdom wherever life takes them – reaching out to and drawing in those they come into contact with.

Currently meeting Bi Monthly in the shop, see the church diary for dates and join a growing number of women on life’s journey.
