One of our values is that Discipleship is a process so we have sought to put in place a process by which people can come into Oaks as unchurched and grow into mature disciples who are active in ministry and able to feed themselves.

Courses we currently have available are:

Fresh Start
This is a post Alpha course aimed at new Christians or anyone who wants to reviews the basics. The aim of this course is to give people a grounding in the Christian faith. Things covered will include what does it mean to be a Christian, how to read the bible, how to pray, how to seek God’ blessing, what are we saved from and for and many other topics.

Anyone who goes through this course will be able to feed themselves as a Christian and be able to feed others.

Orientation Course
The Orientation course is an opportunity for people who are thinking about joining the Oaks church family to meet with leaders within the church, hear about our values and vision and ask questions.

This course will provide people with an overview of the church and give them all the information they will need to become fully involved in the church family.

Discovering Maturity
An opportunity for new Christians to get to grips with the basics. This course will help people to learn how to read & apply scripture, have a ‘quiet time’, meditate, memorise scripture & how to hear God; as well as teaching the importance of fellowship & giving.

‘If you give a man a fish you’ve fed him for a meal; if you teach a man to fish, you’ve fed him for a life time’
 

SHAPE
The SHAPE course is an excellent opportunity for people to explore who God has made them to be. This is not just a course about spiritual gifts, it is actually a holistic approach to discovering who God made you to be so that you can do what God made you to do. As well as looking at your spiritual gifts the course will look at your Heart, your Abilities, your Personality and your Experience.

The aim of SHAPE is to release you into a ministry area where you will be both fruitful and fulfilled. The course is set out in such a way that makes it straightforward to follow and so it is open to anyone, of any age, at any stage of Christian growth and any background.

The course is followed by a personal interview where your SHAPE is looked at and interpreted.

Deeper
Deeper is our ongoing discipleship course & does exactly what it says on the tin! Deeper is a modular course that is intended to help people go deeper with God & each other. This is a course for people who want to learn & be discipled in their Christian walk.
